From November 2020 to February 2021, our company successfully completed the high-pressure vessel transportation task for the Huayue Nickel Cobalt (Indonesia) wet process project. The Huayue Nickel Cobalt (Indonesia) Wet Process Project uses the most advanced third-generation high-pressure acid leaching process internationally to extract nickel cobalt hydroxide from laterite ore. The core equipment of its process technology is a high-pressure reactor with a diameter of 5.3 meters, a total length of 41 meters, and a total weight of 860 tons per unit. After the project is put into operation, it will be beneficial to change the current industrial pattern of the world nickel and cobalt industry.
Guangying, as the logistics carrier for this project, is responsible for the door-to-door transportation of four high-pressure reactors from the domestic manufacturing factory to the Indonesian project site. The job responsibilities include loading, tying, shipping, rolling and unloading of the domestic section of the reactors, on-site short dumping, and installation and positioning.
In the early stage of the project, our side went through long-term meticulous planning. Due to the severe epidemic situation in China and Indonesia, we closely organized all work throughout the process, cooperated closely with various construction units, overcame the impact of the epidemic, and worked together day and night on site to solve various technical problems. We successfully completed the equipment transportation task and will complete the subsequent equipment installation work during the Spring Festival period. During the construction of the receiving dock, in order to meet the actual needs of the owners, we dispatched engineers to the project site two months in advance to assist in the severe spread of the epidemic overseas, providing strong support for the smooth construction of the dock.
During the execution of the project, which coincided with the rainy season in Indonesia, we organized personnel to carefully inspect the transportation road before the operation, and made comprehensive emergency preparations for possible problems, thereby ensuring the transportation safety of the reaction vessel during actual transportation. We have won the trust and appreciation of the property owners with our cautious and responsible professional attitude. Due to the impact of the epidemic, customs have imposed stricter requirements on the berthing procedures of overseas vessels. The project team ensured the smooth shipment of the high-pressure vessel within a limited time through timely communication and coordination with relevant units, and actively cooperated with the implementation of national epidemic prevention and control policies. The use of SPMT for millimeter level precise positioning of high-pressure vessels has doubled the installation efficiency compared to traditional installation techniques, greatly saving installation time and costs, and helping customers achieve project construction goals as soon as possible.
The Huayue Nickel Cobalt (Indonesia) Wet Process Project is another major practice of CNOOC Guangying in response to the national "the Belt and Road" initiative. In the process of project operation, we overcame various adverse factors during the epidemic, and successfully completed the transportation task with professional technical strength, scientific on-site management, and high morale, accumulating valuable experience for the follow-up the Belt and Road project.
