Recently, following the successful translation of the the Shakya ManiHall of the Yangzhenggu Iron Buddhist Temple in Wuhan, the translation project of the pagoda was also successfully completed on schedule. Let's take a look at the "walking" pagoda! The diameter of the pagoda to be transported this time is 8.1 meters, with a height of about 30 meters and a weight of 3100 tons. Our company used 6PPU and 120 axis SPMT to pick up the pagoda from its original location, lift it to the transportation height, and transport it to the new location of the pagoda on a new foundation to complete the installation of the pagoda.
The overall translation of the 3000 ton pagoda is not as simple as it appears. In the process of dismantling the load-bearing columns at the old site of the pagoda, we adopted a partial dismantling method, using transportation vehicles to assist in supporting, in order to avoid excessive load on some of the supports caused by settlement during the dismantling process of the pagoda. Due to the concentrated weight and high center of gravity of the pagoda, it is necessary to match the specifications of the pagoda transportation support beam with the transportation axis vehicle. The main structure of the pagoda and the transportation support beam frame should be poured into a whole to reduce the height of the pagoda's center of gravity during transportation and improve transportation stability. The smooth completion of the project is an important step for Zhonghai Guangying in the field of overall translation of cultural relics.
